Legalization
Applicants coming from the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar,
Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu &
Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland,
Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal &
West Bengal have to apply for their visa at the Embassy of Belgium in New
Delhi. These applications can now be submitted at the Belgium Visa Application
Centre at No 15 – 26 Block E 2nd Floor International Trade Tower, Nehru Place,
New Delhi - 110019.
NEW PROCEDURE

Most common are certificates of civil status (birth/marriage/death
certificates), diplomas, police clearance certificate and affidavits. These
documents only require a single legalization (Apostille) issued by the Ministry
of External Affairs in New Delhi. Additional legalization by the Belgian
Consulate/Embassy is not required anymore.

Legalization of other types of documents
Most common are the medical certificates issued by the approved doctors of the
Belgium Embassy in Delhi and the formal obligations signed by the financial
guarantors. Others may be documents for commercial and administrative purpose
in which a person’s signature requires to be certified by the Embassy.
The Embassy of Belgium, Delhi has authorized the Belgium Visa Application Centre
in Delhi to collect documents that need to be legalized. The documents will be
sent to the Embassy for legalization on the next working day after they have
been submitted and VFS will charge a nominal service charge of Rs.187/-
(inclusive of all taxes) per document along with Legalization fee.

All details on the documents
like name, date of birth, parent's name, address, spouse’s name etc. must be
legible and clear, and contain no overwriting, deletions(corrections will only
be accepted when done in the official way)

The documents will be sent to
the Embassy for legalization on the next working day after they have been
submitted Carry at least 01 photograph along with each document.

The seal and signature of the
consular officer should not be older the 6 months from the time of the issuance
of the documents.

The legalization fee per
document is Rs. 630/- to be paid in cash.

The VFS processing fee of Rs.
187/- per document to be paid in cash.

You have the option of
requesting for a courier return of your documents at an additional cost of Rs.
200/- per applicant.

If the documents are not
legalized by the Embassy, processing fees will not be refunded.

The minimum processing
time is 03 working days.

For counter collection of documents, please bring your receipt with you at the
time of collecting your documents. Collection timings will be between 1400-1600
hours, Monday – Friday except embassy holidays
