VISA FOR ADOPTION OF CHILDREN

A travel document (e.g. national passport) valid for at least 12 months, in
which a visa can be affixed.

Two
visa application forms
duly completed, signed and accompanied by two recent photos bearing a true
likeness to the applicant.

An original official guardianship order and 1 copy.
-
The original affidavit of abandonment of the child (+ one copy).
-
A medical
certificate
of the adoptee filled out by a Belgian Embassy or Consulate approved Doctor not
more than six months prior to the date of application.

An official copy of the child's full birth certificate.
-
Copy of the passport of the child (namely 1st page, last page and the
emigration clearance)
-
A pledge of financial support signed by the guardian residing in Belgium
accompanied by guarantor's solvency and copy of a document proving the
guarantor's Belgian citizenship (identity card or residence permit)..

A copy of the guardian(s)' identity documents.

A certificate of good conduct (certificat de bonne vie et moeurs/bewijs van
goed gedrag en zeden) for the guardian(s).
Important:

The documents listed above are only the basic documents to be submitted in all
cases. Additional documents may be requested by the Consulate and Applicants
may also be invited for an interview.

Applicant will need to submit 01 set of original and 02 sets of photocopies of
their documents at the time of submission of visa application.

Official documents issued in India must be legalised
by the Consulate.

02 set of the applicant’s passport’s 01st page, last page and address page must
also be provided.

The Consulate may ask for verification from the bank/financial institutions for
the financial documents provided.

The above mentioned type ‘D’ visa is valid for Belgium only and not valid for
any other Schengen country.

The Consulate also processes applications for Luxembourg.
