A visa is not a guarantee for access into the Schengen States. The final authorisation remains with the Immigration Officer at the border.
In addition to a valid passport with a visa, every non-Belgian National, when entering Belgium, should be able to produce the following documents to the Immigration Officer:
Concerning his/her Stay in Belgium
- for tourism : hotel reservation, documents from a travel agency
- for a professional visit : letter from the employer, invitation
from a Belgium firm or organisation
- for a private visit : original "3bis or Formal Obligation
Concerning his/her Means of Living
- Cash, Traveller's Cheques, Valid International Credit Card
Proof of a Medical Insurance
- covering all type of expenses including doctors and/or hospital
fees and social assistance
