VISITING FAMILY AND FRIENDS

A valid travel document (e.g. national passport) valid for three months longer
than the visa.

A visa
application form
correctly completed, signed and accompanied by two recent photos bearing a true
likeness to the applicant.

A letter of Invitation from Family and Friend stating relationship and inviting
you to Belgium.

A covering letter from Applicant given the stating the purpose of travel and
relationship with the person inviting.

Proof of accommodation (Either confirmed hotel booking or address where he/she
will stay).

A valid travel insurance policy, either individual or group, with a minimum
cover of 30,000 Euro.

Proof of sufficient and regular personal financial means like: recent Salary
Slips, Bank Statements, Income Tax papers.

Proof of Sponsor's financial means like: recent Salary Slips, Bank Statements,
Income Tax papers and Formal Obligation from the Municipality of Belgium.
Important:

The documents listed above are only the basic documents to be submitted in all
cases. Additional documents may be requested by the Consulate and Applicants
may also be invited for an interview.

All submitted documents must be recent (within the last 06 months). Submitting
false documents may be followed by legal action.

The Consulate may ask for verification from the bank/financial institutions for
the financial documents provided.

The above mentioned type 'C' visa is for valid for all Schengen countries and
is intended for a short stay up to 90 days.

The Consulate also processes applications for Luxembourg.

Minor applicants must provide a letter of consent signed by both parents.
