Visa to Marry in Belgium
-
A valid travel document (e.g. national passport) valid for three months longer
than the visa.

A visa
application form
correctly completed, signed and accompanied by two recent photos bearing a true
likeness to the applicant.

A medical
certificate
filled out by a Belgian Embassy/Consulate approved Doctor, not more than six
months prior to the date of application.

An extract from your judicial record (Police Clearance) not more than six
months prior to the date of application, covering the last five years.

Documents proving sufficient means of subsistence, covering both the duration
of stay and return journey: either your own financial means or the guarantor's
financial means.

An official copy of the marriage notice form (acte de déclaration de
marriage/akte van aangifte van het huwelijk) drawn up by the relevant registrar
in Belgium, no more than six months prior to the date of application.

Proof of a valid travel insurance policy, either individual or group, with a
minimum cover of 30,000 Euro.
Important:

The documents listed above are only the basic documents to be submitted in all
cases. Additional documents may be requested by the Consulate and Applicants
may also be invited for an interview.

All submitted documents must be recent (within the last 06 month). Submitting
false documents may be followed by legal action.

The Consulate may ask for verification from the bank/financial institutions for
the financial documents provided.

The above mentioned type 'C' visa is for valid for all Schengen countries and
is intended for a short stay up to 90 days.

The applicant has to get married within the validity of his/her visa.

The Consulate also processes applications for Luxembourg.
